My plans for last summer included a trip to Nantucket and then… you know how that story ends. This year, with travel safer and a little more normal I was so excited to take advantage of cheap flights and head up to Massachusetts to visit family on the island.
We started off with a cloudy arrival on the aptly named Grey Lady (scroll to the end for those pics!) but got two perfect days of sunshine and blue skies after that. We spent our time at the beach, the brewery, walking around Sconset, out on my uncle’s boat, and walking around town. We had a great dinner at Black-Eyed Susans and homemade fresh fish tacos and spicy margaritas at home. Our long weekend even ended up including an extra day of vacation thanks to a canceled flight and a hurricane that didn’t hit very hard so we spent the additional time relaxing, cozied up on the couch.
Aside from this recent trip, I haven’t been to Nantucket since 2014 so I thought a photo diary would be more appropriate than a traditional travel guide. I can’t make many recommendations but I’ll say Juice Bar and Cisco Brewers are hits for a reason. If you’re looking for a hidden gem that will make you feel like a kid again, head to the backroom of Force Five Water Sports for a fully stocked candy room.
