Before I get into some background on myself and my blog, I know the question you’re all asking is “how do I pronounce the name of this blog??” I tried typing out how the phonetic pronunciation, but realized if you’re not familiar with German pronunciation it probably wouldn’t help much, so instead here is how it should sound. Heimweh is the German word for homesickness and fernweh is it’s opposite – it’s a longing for experience and travel in far-away places. I love this description of it’s meaning if you want more background on the word!

Now that we’ve covered that, why are we here? I’ve been reading blogs for as long as I can remember. I loved the pictures, the stories, and wanted a place to share my own pictures, thoughts and opinions. So I went for it. Fashion and Fernweh is a representation of me – my German background, my love of sharing my interests, travel and fashion.
