I caved. After thinking about it for months I finally bought an Away suitcase. I purchased the bigger carry-on in dark green for my summer travel and can’t wait to see how it works out for me. I’m a little nervous about it being too small but maybe it’ll force me to stop overpacking? A girl can dream. I realized there have been quite a few other purchases I’ve made recently (both big and small) that I haven’t had the chance to share yet! Hopefully, you’ll see a few of these items styled or in larger review posts but for now here are my quick takes.
Thayers Witch Hazel Toner: I’ve been hearing about the Rose Petal toner so when I wanted a gentle one to alternate with my Pixi Glow Tonic, especially after using something as intense as Babyfacial (more to come there) this seemed like an obvious pick. I’m not a huge rose fan so I went with the cucumber and I LOVE the smell. It’s so refreshing and immediately calming for me. I’ll keep you posted on how it actually works long term!
Drunk Elephant Sukari Babyfacial: While on the topic of skin care, I’ve been doing this at-home facial once a week for about a month now. It definitely stings, especially where I have bigger breakouts but I feel like my overall skin texture has been pretty good. I’m still getting some cystic breakouts though, so more to come when I find a solution to those. It also comes with a sample of their marula oil but I think that was hurting more than it helped so I’ve been using a regular moisturizer afterwards instead. Definitely not a life-changing product for me but I am enjoying it.
Ice Roller: If you do want a life-changer, this is the best $12 you’ll ever spend. This has helped my breakouts more than any other skin care product I’ve tried by reducing the inflammation and redness. I don’t use it as often as I could but whenever I do I sit in bliss for ten minutes while rolling my face.
4” Denim Shorts: On my Instagram stories a while back I shared that I ended up returning the AGOLDE shorts I purchased during the Shopbop sale. I couldn’t justify spending that much on shorts that would inevitably get worn out in two months from wearing them all summer and I’m so glad I held out because these ones are just as good and less than half the price. They also go on sale pretty frequently (currently $29!) so don’t feel pressure to buy at full price. They sold out in a few colors over Memorial Day Weekend and I’ll definitely be buying 1-2 more colors when they come back in stock. I sized up from my normal size.
Dagne Dover Toiletry Bag: Even on sale this felt like such a silly purchase to me. Why did I need *another* toiletry bag? I obviously didn’t, but I’m glad I splurged because this one is amazing. It seems so simple but the internal pouches make SUCH a difference. I tend to keep q-tips and cotton pads in the rectangular mesh pouch, stash my eyebrow powder or small eyeshadows in the side pocket, and of course fill the longer pouch with all of my brushes. Even with all of that, I still have so much room for the rest of my products. I use this on every overnight, weekend, and long trip at this point. I have the size large! Available at Nordstrom or in more colors at Dagne Dover.
One Piece Bathing Suit: Abercrombie strikes again! The smell of this store continues to overwhelm me, but they have had such good pieces lately that it’s worth the sacrifice. I normally stay away from anything even remotely cheeky but I couldn’t resist this bathing suit. I’ll definitely be wearing it on July 4th with my favorite red Madewell bandana.
Black Midi Dress: I did a little Lulu’s haul last week and threw this piece into my cart on a whim. I wasn’t sure what to expect but I LOVE it. This dress is an amazing length, so comfortable, and as pictured, looks great belted. Will definitely be wearing it a lot this summer.
I can’t always share things immediately because photography is hard when you work a 9-5 so let me know if you liked this post and want to see more monthly round-ups!
