Looking back at my 5 Best Purchases of 2018, I’d say 4/5 aged really well. I still love and use my YSL Kate bag, Gucci belt dupe, Patagonia and I’ve since ordered/received two more pairs of APLs. I never ended up purchasing the full-size Sunday Riley sulfur mask and have since moved on to other skincare, but I think my top 5 from 2019 will hold up just as well as 2019.
Away Bigger Carry-On: After my Calpak suitcase died after 3 trips, I knew it was time to invest in more reliable luggage. I’ve really loved using my Away so far and have no complaints. It’s been with me to Portugal, Paris, Miami and the Hamptons and will definitely be used for many more weekend trips. I think I’ve been able to fit up to 5 days worth of clothes (summer trips are definitely easier to pack for) and I purchased a matching medium size suitcase for longer/colder trips. I especially love the security of knowing if anything does break, they’ll fix it.
Dagne Dover Hunter Toiletry Bag: I talked about this in my May Roundup and everything I said about it then still rings true. I use it weekly and bring it on every trip. I have the size large and it’s perfect. I also use their Landon Medium Carry-All almost daily as my gym bag and the backpack and tech cases are on my wishlist.
Dyson Supersonic Blow Dryer: I did a full blog post about this one as well, so I won’t repeat the details here, but the more I learn how to use it the better it is. I just purchased a round brush and am so close to nailing a proper salon blow-out look (pictured below).
Bose Quietcomfort 35-II Wireless Noise Cancelling Headphones: These are life-changing. I don’t realize how loud NYC is until I wear them outside, then turn them off and go into shock at how much they were canceling. I will say the only downside is they make my ears really hot so they’re not great for the summer and can be uncomfortable when I get hot on planes, but they make loud cities, work environments and planes so much more pleasant. I especially love to use them at work when I need to focus and on international flights to help me tune out (babies will no longer scare you!).
Mom Jeans: These are the most comfortable pair of jeans I own. I’m one of those crazy people who prefer to wear jeans over leggings so comfort is key for me. They go on sale often, and they look great with a graphic tee and sneakers, or a bodysuit and boots.
