This past December I got a new lens for my camera to take better blog pictures. Unfortunately, as I started testing it out I ended up with a lot of less than perfect shots. Half the ones I liked weren’t in focus and the ones that were I wasn’t crazy about. I didn’t want any of my blog posts to be subpar so I ended up being unable to stick to my regular schedule. I realized I had quite a few pictures that never made it onto the blog so I wanted to finally share them in a compilation post.
Glen Echo // At this point I don’t remember if I found the location or the outfit for these pictures first but I had a vision for it. Glen Echo is a national park that looks like an abandoned amusement park and it’s only ten minutes away from my campus. It’s maintained it’s retro-60’s vibes for the past 60 years and I thought it was so cool. I knew wanted to shoot an outfit there that captured the vibe of the place. The day Karley and I went to take pictures we were incredibly lucky with our timing. We got there at golden hour right when the lights went on, but because of how dark it started to get not all of the pictures turned out perfectly clear. Here a few of my favorites!
White Lace Top // AQUA from Bloomingdales has been one of my go to brands for years. Their clothes are reasonably priced, they have great sales, and they tend to be just trendy enough. A while back I wanted it to feel like spring so I tried on basically their entire spring collection but all I walked away with was this top. I absolutely love the details and the lace. It’s so perfect for spring and I was so bummed I didn’t love a ton of the pictures I took in it. I’m planning on bringing it to Paris with me next month but I had to share a few pictures of it now!
Cherry Blossoms // Unless you live in Florida or California you’re probably as frustrated with the weather lately as I’ve been. I bought this jacket in February on sale and it ended up being the best purchase I could’ve made. I wanted something packable and light weight for Iceland but the color has made having to wear a jacket the past few weeks bearable. I love transitioning my wardrobe and would’ve been even more miserable wearing a black parka in April than suffering through the cold with no jacket. I also love this jacket because it cleans SO easily. It has gotten dirty but I throw it in the washing machine and everything comes out! I couldn’t believe it but I’m so happy with it! The color I’m wearing below isn’t available anymore but it’s the Nano Puff Jacket from Patagonia and runs true to size!
Despite the weather, the Cherry Blossoms bloomed in DC and looked amazing. I managed to get down to the Tidal Basin for peak bloom before my trip to Florida a few days ago and it was incredible. It really made me appreciate being able to live here!
White House Garden Tour // My amazing roommate managed to snag Max and I tickets for the White House Garden Tour last weekend. When I was about four years old I got to go to the White House for the Easter Egg Roll but obviously I don’t remember anything about it. It was 80 degrees Saturday and PACKED. It was so hard to get a clear shot but it was so cool to just be there. You could see trees planted by past presidents and how they’ve grown for the past 60 years, and the view of the Washington Monument is unbeatable.
