Last week was my first full week back in New York and the first week of my internship so needless to say it was a crazy week. Even so, I still have more free time than I did at school and there’s so much happening in New York that I’ve been feeling crazy inspired. Keep checking back Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays for content! I’ll be posting more frequently as I can though. Here’s what’s been on my radar the past seven days:
one // KJP Toasty Coasty sweaters – KJP just added sweaters to the Kiel James Patrick brand and I love them! I have the navy gingham scalloped dress and it’s perfect for summer. I’ve been tempted to expand my KJP collection and this sweater collection might finally push me over the edge. I’m really loving this lobster pattern but they’re all so cute! Which one is your favorite?
two // Taylor Swift – Taylor is back on Spotify and I couldn’t be more excited. I know there’s always plenty of drama surrounding her but I think her music is great and I love being able to listen to it on the subway now since I don’t keep any music on my phone storage. I’ve had 1989 on repeat because I forgot how much I loved it. I’m really hoping this change-up means she’ll be dropping new music soon!
three // Tarte – This summer I’ve (miraculously) been getting gradually tanner, which makes make-up problematic. I don’t want to invest in a new foundation just for my skin to change color again so I’ve been digging up samples of products I’ve collected over the years. This weekend I tried out Tarte Rainforest of the Sea water foundation and I am obsessed. It goes on so smoothly and totally evens out my skin tone. Most importantly, it doesn’t rub off on everything it touches, like other foundations I’ve tried. I’ve been wearing it without additional concealer because it’s so good and it stays on all day. It’s $39/bottle though, so I’m trying my best to wait for the end of the summer when I stop changing color to finally make the move and purchase it.
four // Rachel as the Bachelorette – While I love Bachelor in Paradise, I usually get pretty bored watching the regular seasons. There’s always the same drama, the star cries, the contestants cry, and the cycle repeats. This season, however, Rachel is kicking butt and saying no to all of the boys’ childish drama. It’s incredible. She’s strong, real and by far my favorite bachelorette so far. I can’t wait for a new episode tonight!
five // Tony Awards – ICYMI the Tony Awards (given out for Broadway shows) were last night. The Tony’s are great because they give recognition to incredible shows and actors/actresses, but because I’m selfish I’m also bitter that they ruin any shot I have of seeing one of those incredible shows at an affordable price. As expected, Dear Evan Hansen did well (a show I want to see but haven’t gotten a chance to yet and now probably won’t be able to) and so did Come From Away, another show that’s moving high up on my list of shows to see. If you haven’t heard of either yet, be sure to look them up – they both have incredible plots and casts (they won so many awards for a reason!) I would honestly see any of the shows featured last night though given the opportunity.
