Monday Musings

I thought I would have a hard time continuing to come up with new content every week, but the more I explore D.C., the more I want to share on the blog. I found some beautiful parts of Georgetown this week so stay tuned for pictures coming later in the week! In the meantime, here’s what’s been on my radar lately.

one // Headspace – I feel like my mind always decides to take off at night. I end up laying awake thinking about all the things I have coming up and not being able to fall asleep because my mind is racing. Headspace has totally changed that for me. Headspace is a meditation app that makes meditating easy. It recommends meditating in the morning but for me, it’s necessary at night to help me sleep. I just completed the first week and I know I’m going to end up buying a subscription when I finish Take 10 (the 10-day trial). If you haven’t tried it yet I definitely recommend it.

two // Ladurée Georgetown – Does anyone know when the M Street location is finally opening?? I’ve heard April but haven’t gotten word of an official date. I love Olivia Macaron for their fun flavors and seasonal specials, but I feel like Ladurée is a classic and will be a perfect fit in Georgetown (whenever it finally opens). In the meantime, there’s also a pop-up doughnut (donut?) shop in Kady’s Alley called District Doughnut, which is where the cover photo for this post is from. They have a seasonal Cherry Blossom flavor that looked incredible but I went for the classic Brown Butter and it was SO good.

three // Scalloped Leggings – J.Crew and New Balance have been rocking the collaboration game but these new scalloped leggings are by far one of my favorite pieces from the collection. I love the little detail on the waistband! They come in navy and a bright blue and I think the bright blue would be the perfect motivation for working out this spring.

four // Memories… Do Not Open – The Chainsmokers just released their new album! I’ve been needing new music lately (especially since I played Divide on repeat for the past three weeks) and this album is satisfying that need. My favorite song so far is probably The One but I also love Paris no matter how many times I’ve heard it.

five // Camo – I was very hesitant about this trend for a while, but I have to say, it’s really growing on me. I found myself so close to buying a pair of Steve Madden camo sneakers I found on sale this weekend and had to restrain myself because I already have so many other sneakers, but I’m seeing it everywhere! I especially like it for spring with blush tones as a different take on pink and green.
