Not to be dramatic, but you could say it was love at first sight for me and the brand Veja. I first posted about these sneakers in April 2019, after they stood out to me immediately. Within weeks of spotting them, I had my first pair. I promised a real review so let’s get into it.
If you haven’t seen these sneaks all over your favorite bloggers feeds, Veja is a French brand with a dedication to transparency. They’re open about how their shoes are made and the environmental impact. Think high-quality shoes, sustainability sourced and produced.
Aside from that, what I love about Veja is I think there really is a style for everyone, especially since they have all white options for a clean look. I personally have the V-10 in white and gold and the V-12 in white and navy with a gum sole. I leaned towards those styles because the New York City sidewalks which notoriously destroy all of my shoes are no match for the thick soles. The durability is also key when you live in a walk-up. Over the past year and a half, I haven’t made a dent in the soles. However, if you like a lighter, thinner shoe the Esplar and Campo are great options.
Over the years I’ve worn through Supergas and Converse but my Veja are the most durable and comfortable for all-day wear so far. I wear them mostly with jeans (because I wear mostly jeans) but they also look great with casual dresses.
TL;DR: They’re definitely worth the price and I love mine. Here are a few of the ways I’ve worn them and links to some of my favorite styles!
