It’s September, the temperatures are dropping, the apple cider is calling and I am loving it. I was always so excited for back to school and loved getting ready for a new year. Even though I’m out of school, I still love the fall and feel like September is a great reset after a hot summer. So far this month, I’ve been resetting with new apartment decor which I can’t wait to hang, some new clothes, and new recipes.
one // I bought a new dress!
I’ve been seeing a lot of Aritzia basics on TikTok so decided to pop-in when I was in SoHo last week. I fell in love with the texture and color of the dress I’m wearing above. The sheer sleeves were trendy but something I could see myself wearing for a long time, so I was happily surprised when it looked just as great on as it did on the hanger. It fits true to size and comes in coral, black, white, and navy too.
two // a successful cooking attempt
Almost every time I’ve tried to cook, it’s been using a recipe from Half Baked Harvest. Simply put, Tieghan nails it every time. And therefore, I nail it most times. In the past week, I’ve made her 20-minute Florentine butter chicken twice because it was that good and that easy. Highly recommend trying it!
three // My Best Friend’s Wedding
For all the times I’ve seen Pretty Woman, I’d never seen this 90’s Julia Roberts rom-com before. My friend Cassie mentioned it to me so I watched right away and it was so cute! Available on Netflix for easy watching.
four // my favorite candles
I feel like candle empties should be a series…. similar to beauty empties, but with candles. Reason being, you don’t truly love a candle unless you burn it all the way through. I was a total sucker for Anthropologie’s holiday candle collection and recently got to the end of my beautiful (but seasonally packaged) Capri Blue Fir & Firewood which is one of my all-time favorites. In place of it, I’ve been burning Voluspa’s Baltic Amber a lot and loving it lately. I’m also loving that the three-wick style is much easier to light (re: shorter) than my Fir & Firewood. I’m trying to hold off on purchasing more until I burn through the ones I already have but let me know if you have any favorites in the comments.
five // the perfect midi dress
Okay, I had to share one more (also green) dress before wrapping this post. This one from Target is a fraction of the price of the Aritzia one but just as cute! The length makes it so comfortable especially for these last few hot days. I’ve been wearing it around the city with sneakers but you could also dress it up with loafers or booties for an office look or dinner with friends.
