Ironically, right after I posted about strategic recovery, I experienced burnout. Now that I’m coming out of it I’ve been dying to get back into blogging. I figured the easiest way to start would be to share some of the things I’ve been loving lately.
first up // Modern Love – I was already a big fan of Modern Love the podcast but the TV show made me fall even more in love with this series. Each episode was so different but the second was by far my favorite. If you haven’t listened or watched yet, the podcast is free and available through most podcast apps, and the TV show is from Amazon so all you need is a Prime membership!
two // Tripod Ring Light – This thing is amazing. My two lamps do minimal for my dark room (thank you NYC for lack of overhead light) and I have almost no light near the mirror in my room so blogging or taking outfit pictures after the sun goes down is impossible. Enter: this ring light. It provides amazing selfie light and it even has a phone holder so I can be hands-free with it. HIGHLY, highly recommend this neat little device.
three // Cropped Sherpa Bomber Jacket – I didn’t realize I needed a sherpa jacket so badly until I started wearing this one. Obviously they’re trendy but I didn’t fully get the hype. Enter: the warmest, comfiest, low-key cute jacket I’ve ever worn. I’ll be wearing it well into the winter this year and beyond.
four // What I Wore for Halloween – My Halloween costumes tend to be the most popular pins on my Pinterest channel. This year my boyfriend was studying for a finance exam so we couldn’t do a cute couples costume, but my friend Lily and I did go as aliens together! Huge shout-out to Lily for doing an amazing job with my space buns and glitter shadow, they were so fun! We used the color “Sea Siren“ Stila glitter shadow on my eyelids and “Diamond Dust“ on my face.
five // Patent Pending – If you read Philly Highlights, Please Don’t Tell or Where to Eat in London, you already know about my love for speakeasies. Patent Pending has been on my list forever and I finally got to go on Halloween! Props for outward appearance; much like Blind Barber and Please Don’t Tell, it’s a functioning business during the day (in this case a coffee shop) but obviously has a very cool back room. It’s housed in the Radio Wave building where Nikola Tesla lived! The menu looks like a journal with detailed illustrations of their concoctions and I was totally mesmerized watching the bartenders mix the drinks. Be sure to add this one to your list!
