For my birthday/the holidays this year my friend, Leah, took me to get my first facial. Leah prefers clean beauty and after a ton of research, she decided on Heyday. We arrived at their NoHo location and immediately felt relaxed. Although it was a pretty small space it was a very hygge feel with rooms separated by curtains. My esthetician took me back to my room and offered to plug my phone in for the duration of my facial.
I had already filled out a quick form about my skin care habits but we went a little more in-depth before she checked my hydration levels. My skin was really dehydrated and had no oil so we spent a lot of time on cleaning and hydrating. They used a lot of hot towels between processes and it was so relaxing. Unfortunately, that ended with the extractions. Apparently, my nose was pretty bad because the extractions were pretty painful but I went with it because beauty is pain. After the extraction process, they did some final cleansing and hydrating and gave me a little shoulder massage.
My skin was a little red but very glowy and fresh feeling. I did have some redness the next two days on my nose and was very hesitant to put any products on my face after so if you’ve never gotten a facial before I wouldn’t get one right before a big event.
Since it was my first facial, my esthetician walked me through what she was doing, pointed out milia and capillaries on my face and gave me instructions for taking care of my face moving forward. Heyday is a little pricey but it was so busy the entire time we were there and I understand why. They also have memberships and send you emails with the products they used and advice for the next thirty days so you can take better care of your skin. It’s definitely a treat but if you’ve never had one done I’d definitely recommend it for a special occasion or as a gift!
