For the past nine months, except for the one week I was computer-less, I’ve been posting three times a week, every week, while balancing school, jobs, and internships. When the holidays came around I decided it was time to take a break and enjoy the time with my friends and family. It’s also felt like -5 degrees in New York so anyone taking outfit pictures in this weather is crazy. With all that being said, I can’t wait to share my first post of the new year (which was luckily taken when it wasn’t quite so frigid outside).
Chenille sweaters have been all over stores this year and I have no complaints. I’ve been wanting a white sweater and couldn’t resist this one from aerie. When I found the pearl jeans at Bloomingdales I knew they’d work together perfectly. I wanted to highlight the pearls so I stuck with white converse and my favorite red bag to bring it all together.
Although I loved this outfit, what I was most excited for was the location. My best friend Karley was in town visiting and we had plans to go to DUMBO and get pictures under the Manhattan Bridge. I had also just received my new portrait lens for Chanukah and couldn’t wait to test it out. We got a late start and I had a dentist appointment 2 hours later back uptown so we were short on time. We finally made it and I was in awe of the views. I’ve walked the Brooklyn Bridge but had never been to DUMBO and it was incredible. We got to see the skyline, the old carousel and both the Manhattan and Brooklyn bridges.
I will say I felt a little bit dumb when a week later I realized DUMBO stood for Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass. Whether or not you’ve been to New York before, make sure you make it outside Manhattan, there’s a lot more to see in the boroughs.
Outfit details: sweater: Aerie (on sale and comes in multiple colors); jeans: Bloomingdale’s; shoes: Converse; bag: Rebecca Minkoff (similar)

This outfit is the cutest Lauren, I love the pieces you picked from the jeans, to the purse, to the classic Converse! Also, I’m in awe of how pretty and natural your poses are, I have such a hard time with posing for blog shots! Would you ever consider writing a post if you have any tips?
