This weekend my parents came to DC. I’d like to say they were here for me, but in reality my dad wanted to come to see Michigan play Maryland and I️ was just a bonus. My mom came down with him so we could spend the weekend together, and we had a great time, filled with amazing food. It was so good to have them here and be off-campus for the weekend.
One // Jeni’s Ice Cream – While they were in town, one of the places I️ took them was Jeni’s. I️ first discovered Jeni’s back in May when I️ was in Charleston and I️ couldn’t get over it. Over the summer, my mom received pints of Jeni’s in the mail from a friend and I️ freaked out knowing how good they would be. The flavors we got in the mail were good, but couldn’t compare to getting it in person, especially since when you walk in the store you’re hit with the scent of freshly baked waffle cones. We went Saturday afternoon and my mom was able to try one of their seasonal flavors – dark chocolate peppermint. She was so happy. We didn’t let a drop go to waste. I️ also highly recommend the black raspberry!
Two // Reputation – While I️ love the convenience of Spotify I️ like that CD’s last forever (until we don’t have the technology to read them anymore). I bought Taylor Swift’s Red and 1989 albums when they came out and didn’t hesitate to buy Reputation. I️ haven’t been able to download it onto my computer yet but I️ did so much driving this weekend I️ was able to listen to the album in its entirety twice. It’s definitely a different sound for her but I️ actually really loved the album. “So It Goes,” “Getaway Car,” and “New Years Day” are standing out as my favorites so far. Please don’t tell me I️’m the only one who likes her new sound!
Three // J.Crew New Arrivals – I feel like I share things from J.Crew every week but they’ve been killing it with the new arrivals lately. Right now, my favorites are this turtleneck sweatshirt that I’d probably never take off, these incredibly warm-looking tartan flannel pajamas, and this scarf that comes in three variations of tartan.
Four // Supergas – On the note of clothes, I’m also loving these bordeaux sneakers! I have the classic white and I absolutely love them and wear them all the time. This color is perfect for the holiday season if the weather isn’t too bad. It’s been cold this week in DC (actually, freezing this weekend, we couldn’t spend a ton of time outside because it was so cold!) but it’s so unpredictable that it could be warm again in a week. Only time will tell!
Five // Disney Chanel Games – Last for this week is a total throwback. All 90’s kids will remember playing the video games that went along with Disney Channel tv shows and movies on their computer and someone posted a Buzzfeed article with links to all the most popular games! My personal favorite was always 625 Sandwich Stacker. What other ones should I try?!
