I feel like the fall always flies by. One minute the leaves are green and the next they’re gone. This week was hot and humid and did not feel like fall, but at least it looked it! Driving through Rock Creek Park and Virginia and seeing the leaves changing on the Potomac this weekend made me so happy. The next two weeks I have midterms and I feel totally unprepared, but here are a few things getting me through and keeping me sane.
one // SheIn, part two – Saturday I shared a full outfit and review of SheIn, but today I wanted to share a few more pieces I’m loving from them right now. I really love this camel sweater/coat, this chunky mustard-color sweater, and this twist front sweater that I bought with my first order and can’t wait to share with you guys! The skirt in the cover photo of this post is also from SheIn! The exact skirt is sold out but you can find similar options here, here and here.
two // Peanut Butter Banana Brownies – I will be the first to tell you I am not a good cook. I’ve always preferred baking and still do. When I came across a Tasty video for peanut butter banana brownies, I decided it was finally time to try baking something new. They were surprisingly easy to make and came out really good! I think in a pinch I’ll stick to my favorite Duncan Hines mix but if you want to make something from scratch this brownie recipe is definitely worth a try!
three // LL Bean – LL Bean is offering 20% off everything right now online and in stores, but only until Tuesday! I’ve been seriously eyeing this fleece pullover, and I love this quilted jacket! It looks similar to a Barbour one, but it’s less than half the price and probably closer to 1/3 with the extra 20% off! It’s also a great time to buy Bean Boots if you’ve been thinking about a pair!
four // Riverdale – I don’t understand why none of my friends forced me to watch Riverdale as soon as it came out. I finally watched season one this week and I’m obsessed. It’s like a recent Gossip Girl meets Pretty Little Liars and but with strong female characters like in The Bold Type. I’m totally hooked and can’t wait for the new season to come out Wednesday! If you haven’t watched it yet, I’m telling you, you’re missing out.
five // Halloween Costumes – Last week I shared a few couple costume ideas, this week I’m sharing group costumes! Last year my friends and I went as the cast of Pretty Little Liars. I’ve seen this one done a few ways – we did black dresses and “dirt” on our faces and bodies (brown eyeshadow works wonders), but I’ve also seen people do the A-Team, with black hoodies and one girl in a red coat. In the past, I’ve also done Three Blind Mice which is pretty easy – black outfits, sunglasses and mouse ears, with canes if you want to go all out. This year I have a feeling the Riverdale gang will be a very popular option. Good girl Betty, more current ‘Blair Waldorf’ Veronica, musician or football star Archie, Jughead with his crown beanie, and for any redheads, Cheryl Blossom. It’s one I’m looking forward to seeing people get creative with! My last suggestion is one I’ve actually always wanted to do – KISS, the band, or French KISS (KISS makeup, but with berets and baguettes. Tune in next week for some solo costume inspiration!
