Even though the weather across the country has been absolutely crazy, it’s hard not to feel excited about fall. Every time I notice yellow leaves I do a little happy dance. In DC the changing of the leaves comes with cold mornings and warm afternoons. Since it’s too early to fully transition into fall, two easy ways to incorporate fall into your wardrobe now is by wearing fall colors and layering.
This maroon skirt screams fall to me. It’s one of my favorite fall colors because it’s bright, flattering and fun. The skirt/button-down combo is so easy for class, errands or weekend shopping and is perfect for those in-between days. At this point, I pretty much bring a sweatshirt or sweater with me everywhere I go because it’s so hard to tell if I’ll need one or not and all of our buildings are still running air conditioning. For this look, I went with my matching vineyard vines button-down and Shep shirt to complete the look.
I think this skirt has to be at least 5 years old at this point, I’m pretty sure it’s from Forever 21 though. I looked online and they have a ton of cute maroon options right now! This one is a fun lace-up, I love this berry corduroy, this one is redder but I love the faux suede, and this one is a little bit more casual and flowy. This a-line skirt and this scalloped skirt are definitely a little closer in style to the one I’m wearing but a little pricier than some of the other options!
