When I was in 11th grade and touring colleges I came to DC to look at George Washington University. It was my first time coming to DC that I could remember when I wasn’t part of a group tour and I got to see more of the suburbs. For some reason, what I really remembered about the trip was the Bethesda Farmer’s Market. I went on a Sunday morning and had a really great crepe at this little stand in the market and for some reason, never considered trying to go again when I was in DC last year. Sunday I made it back to the Farmers Market, got the same crepe I did 4 years ago, and enjoyed every bite. It was so much cheaper than a typical DC brunch and I got to enjoy the amazing weather we’re having this week.
one // Kitchenware – The fall weather and leaves changing has put me in the mood for apple pie. I’ve always wanted to learn how to make it and I’m hoping this is the year I finally do. I actually went on Anthropologie to look for cute mugs, and instead found the cutest baking supplies. The pie dish and rolling pin would be perfect for my experiments in pie making, but I also love these gingham measuring spoons!
two // Bourbon Cider Sours – Hot, cold, spiked, any way you slice it cider is one of the best fall drinks. I stumbled upon this recipe for bourbon cider sours and while I’m not a bourbon drinker I would definitely try it mixed this way.
three // Free Hulu – I found this information out Thursday and it basically reversed my bad mood. With your Spotify Premium Student account you can now get a free (limited commercial) Hulu subscription included in your current $4.99 monthly payment. You just have to link your account and you can watch Bachelor in Paradise at no additional cost. I couldn’t find a real link for it, but check out the Spotify web page and you should see a banner for it! The only downside is I don’t think it works with Spotify family plans.
four // (Not) Your Mother’s Dress – I always wondered how celebrities, royalty and the rich and famous could store everything they ever wore and if they even did, so I loved this fun little article about royals wearing dresses previously worn by their mothers!
five // Photography – Among other blog challenges, finding photographers or friends willing to take countless pictures for you is never easy. My friend Alyssa is just getting into photography and helped me do a huge photoshoot to pull blog content together for the next few months. She’s just getting started but she’s already done a lot of cool projects! Check out her Instagram and send a follow or a few likes her way!
