In case you missed it, I spent a great October Weekend in the Catskills earlier this fall. Along with my phone and SLR camera, I also brought a roll of film. I was so excited by this roll and almost equally devastated by it. I forgot to hit the release (talk about a dumb blonde moment) and managed to tear the film while winding it up – I had a feeling something was wrong but wasn’t sure until I opened the back of the camera. As soon as I saw the film wasn’t wound-up I closed it immediately and prayed that I didn’t wreck it too much with the light leak and that my developer would be able to get it out safely. Thankfully, they were and I was able to get most of the photos developed. Crisis averted.
I’m so happy with how this roll turned out. It was my second roll of Fuji Superia X-Tra 400 but this time shot with a manual setting, which I think I like better than the all-automatic settings. I can tell there’s a lot of room for improvement still but feel like I’m getting decent shots more consistently. This roll was also the first where I shot subjects (both people and dogs) instead of only landscapes.
