The past week has been rainy and cold in D.C. and all I can think about is how nice it’ll be to throw on a sundress and a pair of sandals and be ready to go. I’m ready for finals to be over and for summer to finally be here. To start getting ready, I compiled 10 pieces perfect to get you in a summer mood, and they’re all under $100!
(From top left to bottom right)
one // White jeans are a summer must-have. I wear them all the time to dinner or out with friends with a colorful top. I love that these are a little distressed to give them more of an edge.
two // I was hesitant to jump on to the one-shoulder trend because it’s so trendy I’m afraid of it going out of style quickly, but I do love that one shoulder tops stay up better than off the shoulder ones do. I love the scallop and eyelet detailing on this one.
three // Espadrilles are another essential because New York is not somewhere you want to walk around in open-toed shoes. Of course I do it nonetheless, but I love having a good closed-toe shoe to wear around the city if I don’t want to feel like my feet are accumulating dust and dirt. These tie around the ankle and the stripes are more versatile than a typical design!
four // This scalloped tote is under $50 and comes in black, pink, ivory and blue. It’s perfect for days when I’m carrying around my camera or a little more than usual.
five // Nude heels are perfect for when you want to look a little more dressy and these have a fairly low heel making them easy to walk around in! I love Steve Madden shoes and these are a great addition to any summer closet.
six // I’m not big on jewelry but I’m trying to get more into it. The coral earrings would be great to dress up one of the more plain dresses below or even the white one-shoulder top above. These are from Tuckernuck and come in every color imaginable.
seven // The dresses are my favorite part of this post because they’re a summer staple for me. Whenever I don’t want to think about putting together an outfit I throw one on. This white dress is so cute and so cheap ($49)! It’s perfect for a nicer dinner or brunch and would go perfectly with the nude heels and coral earrings.
eight // I own more striped t-shirt dresses than I care to admit but I love this one because of the blue stitching and half sleeves. And, it even comes in red too.
nine // I picked this lace dress for fancier summer events like a wedding. It’s from AQUA by Bloomingdales and the light blue is perfect for transitioning from spring to summer.
ten // Last but not least is this pink linen shift from vineyard vines. I love wearing bright colors, and especially pink, during the summer months and this one can be dressed up or down depending on the shoes and accessories.
