Now that finals are over I’m so excited to have more time to focus on the blog! Of course, I’m going away for ten days first which makes it a little bit harder to keep content consistent but I’m really excited about the posts going up over the next two weeks – keep your eyes out for tips for shopping for a work wardrobe, a review of the new Met exhibit, and more! Here’s what’s been on my mind the past week:
one // Peony season – my absolute favorite time of year for flowers is late spring. Peonies are my favorite flower and I hate that they’re only available in May and June. They make me so excited for summer though and I love watching them open up. Get them while you can!
two // The Bachelorette – I alternate between loving and hating this show but I’m excited for a new season to start soon; mostly because it will be followed by a new season of Bachelor in Paradise (which is obviously the best show in the franchise), but also because Nick was SO boring. I have high hopes for Rachel and I’m hoping her personality shines through this season. Who else will be watching?
three // Draper James at Nordstrom – I love online browsing but hate actually buying things online. I love going into a store, finding something I wouldn’t have thought twice about online and trying it on only to discover it fits perfectly. I’m a huge fan of Reese Witherspoon’s brand, Draper James, but I’ve been hesitant to buy anything because I have no idea how the clothes fit. I was thrilled to find out Nordstrom is going to start carrying it in stores! Of course, none of the stores carrying it are close to me at home (New York and southern style aren’t exactly a perfect match), but the Tyson’s Corner store in Virginia will carry the brand so when I’m back in DC in August I’ll get a chance to shop for some new pieces for fall. To see if it’ll be in a store near you, you can check out all of the locations that will be carrying the collection here.
four // Vineyard Vines – I love the Shep Shirt but didn’t love that you could only monogram in stores. However, that problem is solved because you can now order monogrammed apparel online! They monogram shep shirts, bags and backpacks and you can pick the placement, style, and color. At this point, I have too many to order another to monogram but I’m still glad the option now exists! And, how cute is this red, white and blue weekender for America’s Cup?!
five // Paris v. New York – I loved this story from Vogue about the differences between Parisian and New York street style. Worth a read!
